Academic co-creation: development and validation of a short scale

Introduction Given the profound changes caused in higher education by COVID-19 pandemic, affecting 1.6 billion students and 63 million educators globally, there arises necessity for quantifiable measures that capture essence of academic co-creation. This study aimed to develop validate a short scale co-creation (AC-S) sample students. Methods A total 3,169 from three Peruvian cities participated (Mean Age = 25.77 years old; SD 8.92 years); 1889 were female (59.60%) 1,280 (40.40%) males. Qualitative quantitative procedures used test construction. Item response theory (IRT) under two-parameter graded model (GRM-2PL) information function examine reliability; additionally, brief measure satisfaction was provide evidence relationship with another variable. Results The AC-S displayed strong fit reliability, assessed through standard error. It also showed moderate correlation satisfaction, bolstering its validity linking pertinent Its brevity enhances practicality research, efficiently fitting explanatory models educational contexts. Despite substantial size advanced psychometric methods, acknowledges limitations representativeness cross-sectional design. In conclusion, IRT SEM techniques compellingly support AC-S’s reliability validity.
